We're here in Minnesota!

Well, we are finally here! The next day after daddy and I got sick we drove in the van and after awhile the van filled with smoke. Daddy pulled over and had everyone get ready to get out. It was really exciting for a few minutes, but it was just our transmission that died (whatever that means). We did get to ride in the van on the back of a big tow truck and that was a lot of fun. We got to stay in another hotel and that is when mommy and Sara got sick. Mommy says that God worked all the details out and we were back on the road by lunch the next day (Tuesday). We made it here and there is so much white stuff... that is me and daddy next to a big pile of it (no it's not a hill, just a big pile).

Daddy woke me up really early the next day to go meet my new Doctor. I wasn't to happy about it and then they stuck me and James to take our blood. I was really happy when we were able to go take a late nap in my crib. Then we got to go visit this really big house that has a Ronald McDonald in the front yard and a big playground. Daddy says we may get to stay there soon.

Today I got to sleep a little later but still had to go visit the Hospital again. We still got out in the cold (8 degrees) early and saw lots and lots of Doctors... my favorite part was when I got to play in a big gym with big tunnels and put beans in a small jar with a nice lady ( mommy said it was a OT?). Anyway we are back at the hotel now for a nice nap (around 5pm.) and get to go eat soon. James likes to say "eat time now". We get a few days to rest and then back to the hospital on Monday and my surgery on Tuesday. I got a doll that had the same port as me to show me how I will look after my surgery, and James and Sara got Doctor kits. I am looking forward to my few days off from the hospital. I also want to wish everyone a Blessed New Year!!

Well, we are on our way to Minnesota. We left on Saturday the 26, we had to stay in the car a really long time till we finally got to our hotel. Daddy did let me watch a TV in the van that was really neat. We were only suppose to stay the night but now we will be staying 2 nights in Bloomington,IL. Daddy and I got really sick and we can't travel, plus there is also a lot of white stuff outside. Mommy hopes no one else gets this bug and the roads clear. It's all in the Lords hands... we pray that we can be flexible as long as things don't change. :) God bless you all and stay healthy!!

Hello! I hope everyone is having a good week, we are doing great! Mommy is packing to go on our big trip on Saturday, but right now I am just taking my medicine like a big boy. Nurse Mi-Mi said she will miss me and I gave her a big goodbye hug. This is my last Wednesday trip to have my "ERT" treatments at Vanderbilt Hospital. When I come back from Minnesota to visit at the hospital I should be all healed. The next time I share with you we will be in Minnesota to get ready for my Bone Marrow Transplant, (and trying to stay warm). I wish everyone a blessed Christmas (celebrating the true meaning of Christmas)....and a wonderful New Year!

It's Wednessday again. We had a really good week, I got all better. James got really sick thou and I shared my doggy with him to make him feel better. I think everyone is doing better now, we all had fun dancing to Signing Time music yesterday, I love to dance.

God helped the medicine last week make me all better so today I am going to my "Enzyme Replacement Therapy". Nurse Mimi only had to stick me once and mommy said I did really good. So now we sit and read or watch my shows that I like. I get mommy and daddy all to myself for hours (about 7), they just sit and do whatever I want.... I even get daddy to give me a whole bag of Cheetos for lunch all to myself. See I think I can get use to this hospital stuff as long as I am feeling better.

We get to go to Aunt Jamie's new house tomorrow for dinner, we go lots of places lately to see people we will miss while we are gone. Since I was sick I didn't get to go see Me-ma and Pa ( my great grandma and great grandpa), I usually go see them every Tuesday. I will miss them. I hope everyone has a wonderful week and God keeps everyone healthy so everyone can enjoy visiting others. God bless!

Josiahs sick

December 9th
Today I came to have my medicine at the hospital. Nurse Mimi said I have a fever and need to see my Doctor. The Doctor said I was to sick to have my "ERT" this week and I spent the day getting lots of tests. They sent me home with lots of medicine and said I had Entero virus that caused possible double Pneumonia. I wasn't feeling to good but felt a whole lot better when I got to go home and watch my shows! Maybe the medicine will help me get better so I can go next week. Bye for now!

Hello, My name is Josiah Carman (or Si, as my family calls me). I am 2 1/2 year old boy with Hurlers Syndrome. I was diagnosised in June,2009.

In my Profile picture I am with my family, I Love my family! I am the one in the plain Green shirt, the striped green shirt is my twin brother James and the girls are my big sisters. My dad is named Jim and he is holding me, I think he is my most favorite person in the whole world.

I am currently having "ERT" (enzyme replacement therapy) done at Vanderbilt Children's hospital. I have had 12 treatments so far and they seem to really help me. In the last several months I have had surgery, pneumonia about 6 times, runny noses, Hearing test, and seeing lots of Doctors. I don't like Doctors to much, I do enjoy the nurses that I get use to ... Like Nurse Mimi who helps me with my" ERT's", she is my friend!

Mommy says that I get to go to Minneapolis, MN on December 26Th for a Bone Marrow Transplant. It sounds really scary but Daddy says it might help me get better. James gets to go with me too (because he is my donor), God gave me a twin to help save my life. I am so excited that he gets to go with me because I love to play with him and he looks at pictures with me. I love pictures! I love watching my shows and dancing, James dances for me and makes me laugh.

I love singing and clapping. I also love when my family prays, I fold my hands and bow my head and I am really quite. We pray all together ever day, usually we ask God to help me get better but I love to pray for all sorts of things. My family prays that as I get better that we can be an example of Jesus healing. No matter what happens here on earth I know that God will heal me. Thank you for reading and going on my journey with me. I will tell you more about how I am doing later. God bless you all, Josiah
